What to Expect from Your Adult Autism Assessment
Our Autism assessment is a thoughtful, in-depth process designed to help you better understand yourself. At the end of the assessment, you'll receive a clear, easy-to-read written report that outlines whether your lived experiences meet the clinical criteria for Autism. This report can be a powerful tool—not only for your own self-awareness and growth—but also for communicating your needs more effectively to loved ones, employers, and healthcare providers. Many clients find it valuable in strengthening their relationships and creating more supportive environments.
Step 1: Getting Started
Before we meet, you’ll complete an intake form and a few simple, insightful online questionnaires. We’ll also send you a preview of the types of interview topics and sample questions so you know what to expect. This gives you time to reflect on your experiences, either on your own or with someone you trust, so you feel grounded and prepared. Our goal is to make this process as smooth and supportive as possible.
Step 2: Clinical Interview (Two Sessions)
Your assessment includes two 90-minute interviews, conducted either in-person at our Kissimmee, Florida office or via secure video call (available to adults living in Florida, New York, New Jersey & Connecticut).
During these sessions, your clinician will explore areas such as:
-
Social communication patterns
-
Sensory processing and experiences
-
Lifelong behaviors and coping strategies
Our assessor is a licensed mental health counselors and professional counselor who has years of experience working with autistic clients of all ages. Her lived experience brings valuable insight and empathy to the process—they truly understand what it’s like from the inside.
Step 3: Feedback & Report
You’ll return for a 1-hour feedback session where your clinician will:
-
Review your Diagnostic Confirmation Letter (if criteria are met)
-
Walk you through your Comprehensive Written Report, which details how your experiences align—or don’t—with clinical criteria for Autism
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of yourself, a written report you can use to communicate your needs more effectively, and personalized next steps for additional support or self-discovery.
- Cost
The complete assessment is $800 and includes:
-
Four hours of clinician time
-
Intake and screening tools
-
Final written report and diagnosis documentation
You’ll pay in stages throughout the process. We do not accept insurance.
